Lesson no.1

Based on the subtopic in chapter 1, I am interested to discuss the ECRL Project that been expected to be ready in 2026, which is has reached 20.37 per cent completion in January 2021 compared to the original schedule of 19.39 per cent.

In my honest opinion, I am agree and excited to wait for this ECRL project to complete because it is crucial for logistics to connect one place to meet the main point of logistics which is " RIGHT PLACE, RIGHT TIME & RIGHT QUANTITY" . I will also connect the point of ECRL Project and benefit of having good logistics especially in Rail Transport Management.

I lived in Meru Klang, Selangor Darul Ehsan which close to place stated in ECRL Project in future which is Kapar which is approximately 10 minutes only from my home and I can confidently said that nothing in Kapar for now but in the end of 2019 new Highways had been built which is WCE ( West Cost Expressway ) that connects between Banting to Taiping

However not all 100% of the highways had already finished but in Kapar I can say that it already finish and already connect Shah Alam to Kapar by road transport such as cars, lorry and motorcycle and the benefit of it is the road and infrastructure is well maintain and more job opportunities will be created by this highways.

Based on my opinion above, I can say that this ECRL Project that connect places from Selangor to Kelantan is brilliant idea. Imagine how many logistics activities can be done in a short time, plus passenger also can choose to use the ECRL to go for a business trip or vacation with families.

Based on MIDA ( Malaysian Investment Development Authority ) said that ECRL project will gain more income and improve economy. “Moreover, it is also expected to boost new developments and townships, as well spur commercial activities in relatively new areas like Puncak Alam and Kapar which have both been designated as future stations for the ECRL,” stated by Mohd Afanizam Abdul Rashid.

The ECRL project will drive many benefits, creating a positive impact to those living near the rail line namely the three East Coast states of Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang as well as Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, and the Federal Territory of Putrajaya. Many are taking a peek at the numerous opportunities that could be leveraged from the large-scale project which is expected to be ready by December 2026, especially in driving economic development and spurring high impact sectors of logistics, trade and tourism.

There are a lot of advantages of rail transport in ECRL which is it is stated that ECRL project will connect port between port and it is cost effective for logistic companies because it is basic for a companies or logistic companies to maximize profit and minimize cost because by having rail transport companies can carry large capacities to achieve Economics of Scales. I had an experience where our programs in UUM under MISC Entrepreneurship day our teams need to order bulk of shirt to synchronized which each other and the seller come from Subang Jaya to Arau by using ETS to carry the big bulk because he doesn't have trucks or 4-wheel drive. I can predict that by having ECRL Project been done it can create lots of opportunity in business results to increase economy.

In terms of reliable and efficient, rail system in Malaysia had already improve and catch up with latest technology because I had an experience of boarding ETS from KL Sentral to Arau station for travelling back to UUM in semester 1 & 2. I am impressed with the comfort such as air conditioning, clean toilets and good pantries or cafeteria.

Monoxide gas that been release from road transport and carbon from air transport is not considered as environmental friendly but rail transport is more clean and environmental friendly and more safely than road transport.
